The term “theology,” etymologically, is derived from two Greek words, “theos” (God) and “logos” (word or discourse). From this narrow perspective, theology simply refers to the study or science of God. In other words, theology means a systematized and organized approach to the study of God, though this can be regarded as a restricted meaning of the term. Viewed broadly however, theology is used to cover not only the study of God, His nature, existence and revealed plans and actions but also God’s relation to and dealings with the things He created: spiritual beings, man and the physical world.
